The Zhang Xiaobing-Yuan Lin research group at Hunan University has developed a new class of fluorescent dyes with high brightness, excellent photostability, and large Stokes shift—YueLu dyes (YLs). These dyes offer superior performance in protein labeling and super-resolution imaging, making them ideal for high signal-to-noise ratio protein visualization.

A key derivative, YL578-NHS, serves as an active intermediate for protein labeling, while YL578-Halo and 10-Halo probes enable high-resolution protein imaging.

Key Advantages of YueLu Dyes (YLs) Compared to Traditional Rhodamine Dyes

  • Higher brightness
    • YLs: 66,400 M⁻¹ cm⁻¹
    • Classic Rhodamine Dyes: 32,500 M⁻¹ cm⁻¹
  • Larger Stokes shift
    • YLs: 52 nm
    • Classic Rhodamine Dyes: 27 nm
  • Superior photostability
    • YLs maintain fluorescence intensity for a significantly longer duration.
    • Enables 5x more frames in imaging compared to traditional probes before reaching half of the initial brightness.

These enhanced properties make YueLu dyes ideal for long-term, high-resolution bioimaging and protein tracking.

Applications of YueLu Dyes (YLs) in Super-Resolution Imaging

  • High-contrast protein visualization for biomedical research.

  • Long-term super-resolution imaging with minimal photobleaching.

  • Superior imaging quality in complex biological environments due to a high signal-to-noise ratio.

J&K Scientific provides high-purity YueLu dyes and Halo protein labeling probes, ensuring precision and reliability in advanced imaging applications.
