Technical Notes:
1.Pharmacological management remains the primary method to treat epilepsy and neuropathic pain. A novel class of anticonvulsants termed functionalizedamino , acids (FAAs) have been advanced. In this study, FAA derivatives have been examined from which the terminal acetyl moiety was removed and termed these
compounds primary amino acid derivatives (PAADs).
2.Primary amino acid derivatives (PAADs) (N'-benzyI 2-substituted 2-amino acetamides) are structurally
related to functionalized amino acids (FAAs) (N'-benzyI 2-substituted 2-acetamido acetamides) but differ by the absence of the terminal N-acetyl group.
