Vacuum Blood Collection Tubes: Essential for Clinical Diagnostics and Healthcare
With the continuous advancement of medical technology, the demand for vacuum blood collection tubes in the market is rapidly expanding. As a critical tool for clinical diagnostics, vacuum blood collection tubes play a pivotal role in influencing healthcare standards. Their development has a significant impact on the improvement of healthcare systems worldwide, including in China.
At J&K Scientific, we offer two main types of vacuum blood collection tube additives: procoagulant components and siliconizing agents, both essential for ensuring accurate and efficient blood collection.
Blood Coagulant
Procoagulants are designed to reduce blood coagulation time in vitro and promote the separation of serum. The separated serum is crucial for accurate in vitro diagnostic tests.
Blood Coagulation Powder
Our blood coagulation powder acts as an effective coagulant. Here's how to prepare it:
-
Dissolve 60g of accurately measured coagulant powder in 850ml of ethanol, stirring until fully dissolved.
-
In a beaker, mix 18g of water-soluble silicone oil, 18g of PEG 400, and 150ml of distilled water.
-
Combine the mixtures from steps 1 and 2, then stir well.
-
Rinse the container and stirring rod with the ethanol from step 1, and add the rinsed ethanol to the solution from step 3. Stir thoroughly for 30 minutes.
Usage Instructions:
Prepare a suspension in water or ethanol, spray it onto the inner wall of the blood collection tube, and dry at 40-50°C. Alternatively, the dry powder can be directly added to the tube using a measuring spoon. Typically, 0.5-1mg of this product is sufficient to promote the coagulation of 1ml of blood.
Siliconizing Agents for Smooth Blood Collection
Siliconizing agents are essential for making vacuum blood collection tubes smoother and easier to use. J&K provides two types:
Water-Soluble Siliconizing Agent
This is a high-molecular-weight methylpolysiloxane copolymer, soluble in water, ethanol, and alcohol-water mixtures. It is hydrolytically stable and can be prepared using deionized water. However, it requires drying time due to water vapor formation during application.
Oil-Soluble Siliconizing Agent
This version contains polymeric silicone materials and requires the addition of petroleum ether during preparation. It has a shorter drying time, provides a smoother surface, and prevents the test tube contents from sticking to the walls.
Serum Separation Gel for Optimal Serum Separation
The serum separation gel is a widely used additive in vacuum blood collection tubes, essential for separating serum from blood clots. It plays a key role in the preparation, preservation, transfer, and transportation of high-quality serum and blood specimens.
There are two main types of serum separation gels based on raw materials:
- Acrylate Separation Gel
- Resin Separation Gel
These gels are critical for maintaining the integrity and quality of clinical testing samples.
