J&K Scientific offers a high-performance adsorbent designed for safe and effective handling of liquid chemical spills.
Key Advantages
Wide Application Range
Effectively absorbs a broad variety of chemicals, including acids, bases, and organic solvents such as alcohols, ethers, benzenes, heterocycles (oxygen- and nitrogen-containing), alkanes, sulfones, silicone oils, amides, and more.
High Absorption Efficiency
Delivers rapid and thorough absorption, minimizing spill-related risks.
Safe to Use
Neutralizes the acidity or alkalinity of chemicals (excluding volatile substances). The product is in microsphere form, which generates significantly less dust compared to powder‑type adsorbents.
Easy to Determine Endpoint
A color change indicates whether the spilled substance has been fully absorbed. The adsorbent is originally yellow; it turns peach‑red with acidic chemicals and blue with alkaline chemicals. After complete neutralization and absorption, it returns to yellow.
How to Use

No need to pre‑identify the chemical properties of the spill – the operation is simple.
-
Contain the spill – Sprinkle the adsorbent along the edge of the spill to prevent further spread.
-
Cover and absorb – Apply the adsorbent directly over the spilled liquid. It will turn peach‑red (acid) or blue (alkaline) according to the liquid’s pH. Continue adding adsorbent until no further color change occurs. For non‑ionic liquids such as oils (no acidity/alkalinity), add adsorbent until no liquid seeps from the surface. Allow time for absorption.
-
Check the bottom layer – Inspect for any visible liquid at the bottom. If present, add more adsorbent (generally an additional 5 mm thickness on top of the existing layer).
-
Clean up – Sweep up the spent adsorbent. For safety, dispose of the absorbed solid as hazardous waste.
